How can we escape from being scanned by buddy spy and other related softwares for scanin yahoo mesenger status

The short answer: not easily.

The long answer:

Buddy Spy has two sources of information on your yahoo messenger status, (1) your computer and (2) the yahoo messenger servers.

Contacting your computer directly is known as peer-to-peer mode and you have the best chance of blocking this type of traffic. The person using Buddy Spy is using a Yahoo Messenger user to conduct the scanning. You may be able to block or ban that user from Yahoo Messenger. Also, if you know the source IP address of the user scanning you, you could configure your firewall to block that IP address.

What you have no control over is what information the Yahoo Messenger servers give away to other software clients using the YMSG communication protocol. Your computer running Yahoo Messenger sends status info to the servers and the servers relay that status info to Buddy Spy. Your computer is never in a position to block the Buddy Spy traffic. All you can do in in this regard would be run the latest version of the Yahoo Messenger client and contact Yahoo requesting they lock down the protocol.

One option might be to stop using Yahoo Messenger directly and change over to something like Jabber, which would let you run your own server and can also interface with Yahoo and other IM services.

Perhaps encouranging is the fact that the Buddy Spy software appears to not be very reliable and often gives false positives. See reviews here:

Yahoo probably isn't happy that software like Buddy Spy exists, but it's probably within the general expectations of how IM software works. You can read their help article here that talks about their privacy stance:

By using software that doesn't use the Yahoo engine to run messenger...such as Yahelite or Trillian or Gaim. I am not sure however of other programs abilities to make you invisible.
