Why does my yahoo mesenger not open?

i try to open my yahoo messenger but it wont stay open long enought for me to sign in it reacts as if it was going to open and then bam its gone....i tried several times even erasing and installing software nothing

To eliminate this problem uninstall your yahoo messenger version 8 and install the yahoo! messenger 7. Dell recommends that you do this due to all the problems like the ones your encountering.


To uninstall go to Add/Remove programs and remove.


To download yahoo messenger version 7, go to:

I recently did this and havent had any more problems like the ones your having since I did it.


After you download the version 7 you can retrieve all of your contacts by going into your contacts and importing contacts. It will guide you through from there.
Reply:I do not know. Mine is up this very second so it must be your computer! See if it has anything to do with your spyware.

Reply:Yahoo Messenger 8 was creating a lot of problems for me, so I uninstalled it and switched back to 7 and since then I have not faced any problem.


So I recommend you to uninstall your YM 8 and switch back to 7 this will automatically fix all your problems especially the common problems of YM 8 like :


-Problems in signing in


-Problems in alerts and sounds


-Problem with more processor usage


-Problems with contact list


-Problems with contact details


-Problems with offline messages.


-Problem of sudden turn offs


-Problems getting into chat rooms.


-Problems with file transfering


-Text messages recieved and sent becomes invisible.


-Frequent automatic sign outs etc
