Can't send file via mesenger, why?

I use windows live messenger and my friend use yahoo messenger.


when I try to click send a file it can't be clicked (the font color is grey, showing that it can't be clicked)


and when I try to do it before doing an instant message, it says no user can recevie this file (my friend is online that time).


why?

Can't send file via mesenger, why?
You both need to have the same version to send files. If your friend is not using Yahoo Messenger, you can't send files. There are some multiple client platforms available and nearly all won't allow file transfers.
Reply:yeah it is me going through same thing must be errors technocal issues with yahoo and have u and other persons u try send files to there fire wall and yours.
