Start Menu - Control Panel - Add Remove Programs - look for Yahoo Messenger in here - Uninstall
Reply:Yahoo! Messenger is just a software, thus deleting it doesn't affect your account.


To remove YIM, Come to Start -- Settings -- Control Panel -- Add/Remove Programs. Click Yahoo! Messenger on the list of programs, then click Edit/Remove button.
