Wanting to change name in live mesenger so that my real name does not show pls help?

i want to know how to change my id name in yahoo messenger.i do not want peaple to know my real name if i decide to go into yahoo messenger..i want poohberry 495to show as my id name not my real name which it shows now..can you help ,,i certainly would appreciate thanks

well, you cant change your ID with this account. But you can change your name that will appear to others while chatting. To do this;





Click on the menu "messanger"


Select "my profile"


Then click on your present ID


this will take you to your profile page,


Now click "creat New Public profile"


Now creat your own profile as you like.


Finally save and go to your messanger.


there you will get option to set your chosen profile for the chatt friends.

click messenger tab


click my contact details


when it opens, remove all unwanted names


enter the name you want shown to others


click save and close





also if the other person has the option in their preference to show your ID instead of the name you want shown, there is nothing you can do about that , they may have the option check in their" preference, under appearance"

then Personal and at the top you can change what others see as your name.
