then control ur start up programs
I do not want Yahoo Mesenger to open when I turn my computer on.?
Here's how to do it. Please ignore the other answers, which are incorrect. In Messenger, click the Messenger menu and select Preferences. In the left of the dialog box, click the General link. On the right, remove the checkmark for Automatically Start Yahoo! Messenger and click OK.
Reply:click on 'Start' and then on 'Run' on your programs menu. when the little window opens, type 'msconfig' in it. a menu will open with a bunch of tabs at the top. one of the tabs says 'Startup' and shows you everything that starts up when you turn your computer on. you can remove the check marks and decide what starts and what doesn't. then click 'apply' and you can either restart your computer then or the changes will take effect the next time you restart. also there is a great free program call win patrol that you can control startups with and it monitors things that try to start up or install themselves. look for WinPatrol...just type it in a search engine. I use it for cleaning up my system, have used it for years and installed it for lots of people who were having trouble with startups and viruses.
